IT AMC Cost in India (2026): Per-Computer Rates
Most IT AMCs in India cost about ₹1,200 to ₹2,500 per computer per year for labour-only cover, and ₹2,500 to ₹5,000 for comprehensive cover with parts. The scope behind the number matters more than the number.

Quick take
- Labour-only (non-comprehensive) AMC: about ₹1,200 to ₹2,500 per desktop or laptop per year.
- Comprehensive AMC with common parts: about ₹2,500 to ₹5,000 per device per year. Premium plans go up to about ₹7,500.
- Servers, NAS, printers, and CCTV are priced separately, per device.
- Most quotes exclude 18% GST. Compare the scope and exclusions, not just the rate.
Typical IT AMC rates in India (2026)
There is no standard rate card for IT AMC in India. The ranges below combine published 2026 rates from Indian providers in Delhi NCR and other metros. They are per device, per year, before GST.
| AMC type | What it usually covers | Typical rate per device / year |
|---|---|---|
| Labour-only (basic) | Breakdown calls, labour, remote help, about 2 preventive visits a year. Parts billed separately. | ₹1,200 – ₹2,500 |
| Comprehensive | Labour plus common parts such as hard drives, RAM, and power supplies. About 4 visits a year. | ₹2,500 – ₹5,000 |
| Premium | All of the above, plus faster on-site response (often 4 hours), software support, and monitoring. | ₹3,600 – ₹7,500 |
| Dedicated on-site engineer | A full-time engineer at your office, usually on top of an AMC. | ₹15,000 – ₹35,000 per month |
Published guides report quotes anywhere from ₹1,200 to ₹8,000 per computer. Most of that spread comes from what is included, not from one vendor being cheaper. Tier-2 cities are often 15 to 20% cheaper than metros.
Servers, printers, and other devices
Desktops and laptops are only part of the contract. Other devices are usually priced on their own line. One Delhi NCR provider publishes these annual ranges:
| Device | Typical AMC per year |
|---|---|
| Entry-level tower server | ₹9,600 – ₹36,000 |
| Rack server (1U/2U) | ₹18,000 – ₹54,000 |
| NAS or storage box | ₹6,000 – ₹30,000 |
| Office laser printer | ₹2,400 – ₹9,600 |
Laptops are often priced like desktops for labour-only cover. Comprehensive laptop cover can cost much more, because screens, keyboards, batteries, and motherboards are expensive parts.
What pushes the price up or down
- Number of devices: the per-device rate falls as the count rises.
- Comprehensive or labour-only: parts cover roughly doubles the rate.
- Response time: a written 4-hour on-site promise costs more than next-business-day.
- Preventive visits: quarterly visits cost more than twice a year.
- Age of machines: one guide reports ₹500 to ₹1,000 extra per computer for machines older than four years.
- Software support: often an add-on of ₹200 to ₹500 per computer per year.
- Contract length: multi-year contracts often get 5 to 15% off. Bundling desktops, CCTV, and UPS under one contract can save 10 to 20%.
- Warranty: machines still under manufacturer warranty should not pay for parts cover.
Worked example: a 25-device office
Here is what the ranges above work out to for 25 desktops and laptops. This is simple arithmetic from published rates, not a quote.
| Option | Per year, before GST | Per year, with 18% GST |
|---|---|---|
| Labour-only AMC | ₹30,000 – ₹62,500 | ₹35,400 – ₹73,750 |
| Comprehensive AMC | ₹62,500 – ₹1,25,000 | ₹73,750 – ₹1,47,500 |
| Premium AMC | ₹90,000 – ₹1,87,500 | ₹1,06,200 – ₹2,21,250 |
Add servers, printers, and network devices on top. One provider's published total for a 25-desktop office with 2 servers, 4 printers, and a switch is ₹62,000 to ₹2,38,000 a year.
AMC or per-user managed IT?
Some providers price per user per month instead of per device. One Indian provider starts at ₹699 per user per month before GST. That plan includes a helpdesk, patching, antivirus with EDR, daily cloud backup, and email security.
For 25 users that is about ₹2,09,700 a year before GST. That is more than most AMCs, but it covers security, backup, and monitoring that an AMC usually leaves out. If downtime or data loss would hurt your business, compare the two side by side.
What to check before you sign
- A device list with serial numbers or asset tags, so it is clear what is covered.
- For comprehensive cover, which parts are included. Monitors, motherboards, SSDs, and batteries are commonly excluded.
- Standard exclusions such as physical damage, liquid damage, consumables, and software licences.
- Response and resolution times in writing, separately for remote and on-site.
- How many preventive visits you get, and what each visit includes.
- Cover for after-hours, Sundays, and holidays.
- Whether OS reinstalls, data recovery, and antivirus are included.
- A monthly report of tickets and visits.
- An exit clause, plus handover of passwords and documentation if you leave.
- Whether the quoted price includes GST.
Red flags in an AMC quote
- A per-device price far below the ranges above, with no written scope.
- "Comprehensive" cover where parts are still billed "at cost".
- No written response times.
- No device list attached to the contract.
- Reluctance to share admin passwords or network documentation with you.
Frequently asked questions
How much does IT AMC cost per computer in India?
In 2026, labour-only AMC is typically ₹1,200 to ₹2,500 per computer per year, and comprehensive AMC with parts is ₹2,500 to ₹5,000. Premium plans with faster response and monitoring can reach about ₹7,500. These prices are before 18% GST.
Is GST charged on IT AMC?
Yes. IT maintenance services are charged 18% GST, and most published rates exclude it. Registered businesses can usually claim it back as input tax credit. Ask every vendor to quote before and after GST so you are comparing like with like.
What is the difference between comprehensive and non-comprehensive AMC?
Non-comprehensive (labour-only) AMC covers visits, troubleshooting, and labour, while replacement parts are billed separately. Comprehensive AMC also covers common replacement parts. Check the parts list, because high-cost items are often excluded.
How many preventive visits should an AMC include?
Basic plans usually include about two visits a year. Standard and comprehensive plans commonly include four, which means quarterly. Ask what each visit covers, such as cleaning, updates, health checks, and backup checks.
Can I get an AMC for old computers?
Usually yes, but expect an inspection first and a higher rate. One guide reports ₹500 to ₹1,000 extra per machine for computers older than four years. Some vendors exclude old machines from comprehensive cover.
Prices were collected in October 2026 from published Indian provider rates and guides. They are indicative, exclude GST unless stated, and change often. Get written quotes for your exact devices.
